Group  Interventions

When people get together in groups the possibility for transformation is exponential.

This is the power of diverse small groups (business, political, social)  that represent the the larger macrocosm

of society.

In this way small groups are the core building blocks of transformation.

The Importance of Individual Mastery within a Group Setting

Groups allow individuals to master themself within the context of the group. This fosters uniqueness, self-value, and a sense of belonging. These groups then exponentially radiate out to their circle of influence far beyond the individual members capacity.

This is illustrated quite beautifully in the graphic from the Barrett Value Center entitled The Framework for Evolution.

We evolve in a step by step process of Personal Mastery first, then

Small Group Bonding, and, finally, Societal Integration. These steps are

sequential. Too often ,these steps are circumvented and a group

identity is created without individual personal mastery.

The results are disastrous as the individual abdicates his true identity

and instead rebuilds it in the likeness of the group. This stifles the

natural creative impulse of the individual and results in group

servitude and a restricted circle of influence.

Simply put, we as individuals cannot focus on higher group service

(common good) until we have become viable and independent in our own right. The role of a leader in this context is then to create the framework for personal growth within the group setting.

My Passion for Group Interventions

I am passionate in working with diverse groups. This has been both in facilitating business groups and transformational workshops for many years.

The group assessment tools used are the Cultural Transformation Tools and the Enneagram Group Assessments.

Ongoing Group Mentoring and Learning

This ongoing coaching and mentoring process is designed to address the following:

  • Maximize the gifts and strengths of the group, and connecting to the group's unique value.

  • Identifying stuck and in fixated patterns and coaching to a more liberated, integrated expression of the group purpose and potential.

  • Discussing any points of inefficiency or friction in the team, the patterns that underlie them, and identifying ways to improve team process.

  • Understanding collective social and conflict styles and developing the processes and skills required to harness healthy conflict as a driver of performance, and not a barrier to it. Healthy conflict accelerates team performance; unhealthy conflict destroys it.

  • Valuing and supporting the contribution of each team member.

  • Practical tools and tips for group collaboration.

Cultural evolution is dependent on the ability of humans to bond and cooperate.
Bonding and cooperating is dependent on our ability to trust and be trusted.
Our ability to trust and be trusted is dependent on our personal psychological evolution .
