What is Freedom ?

Freedom is humanities greatest pursuit...

"Humanities

collective and individual historical experience is one of servitude.

Never more has our freedom been more important".

-Michael Raal

Freedom is the realization of the inner aspect of being.

Freedom is defined as "the quality or state of being free as the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action" or "the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint."

These definitions refer only to Human freedoms. The freedom essentially to come and go as you please. Many people in the world today do not have even this basic level of human freedom.

True freedom is state of full alignment and integration with the inner aspect of being. It is the realization of one's true inner nature which is unbound by Human customs, habits, desires and laws. It is the release of human limitations of struggling, constant problems and worry.

This inner freedom is experienced as expansiveness, peace and Joy.

Freedom is the flame of divinity that resides in all mankind.

"To cast the weight of your energies into the balance of mere human personality is to deny to the world the benefit of your potential of spiritual talents which could well be used to expand the glorious gifts of God upon earth on behalf of mankind and in greater service to life" Kuan Yin.

Our Historical Experience is one of bondage and servitude.

Historians agree that the first recorded instance of slavery occurred in the Sumerian civilization about 5500 years ago. Slavery in this context is the bondage of a person against their will. This slavery may be called external slavery!  This is however, a very narrow definition as their are many other expressions of slavery.

Other forms of slavery humanity contends with are:  our conflicted neurotic minds, our inhibited desires and addictions to things, people and false identities.

Consider this from the following perspective:

Are the majority of humans ever free of problems and in a state of peace ?

Our lives are a treadmill of continually solving problems only for new ones to arise as soon as we have solved the old ones. In this way humanity is really enslaved from within (Internal slavery)

It has been estimated that there have been approximately 107bn people who have ever lived. Of these 107bn people how many have lived free lives in terms of being free from external and / or internal servitude?

The power of the question is really in the observation that slavery has mostly been our historical experience. We have been so indoctrinated in slavery that we barely can conceive of what freedom is or feels like.

In our personal lives we are slaves to our desires, our pursuits of pleasure and entertainment, our narrow-minded beliefs, our illusions of what will bring us happiness and most of all our loss of connection to ourselves and every brother and sister on this planet.

"Our lives are the equivalent of an an animal born into captivity that has no understanding or concept of what it is like to live wild and free".  -Michael Raal

Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom.

As nations become corrupt and vicious,

they have more need of masters.

Freedom for all or Slavery for all ?

In our societies, we are slaves to economic systems of control that encourage either greed without care or unmerited handouts with abdication of responsibility. We are enslaved in forms of government that restrict our ability to choose and the growth than inevitably results from experiencing the consequences of our choices.

Society is held captive to rigid political ideologies of the left and right with the false belief in the power of the political and intellectual elite to extricate us from our problems.

He who cannot see the whole must not be entrusted with a part.

In this, America is like a pendulum on a grandfather clock. Every person choosing one side of the pendulum for their final stand on every issue when the only true stand to take is not any side at all but rather the center point of balance, common unity and freedom.

We are in the front line of an unseen battle. It is a battle for the Soul of mankind. It is not a battle that is only being fought by a few selective individuals. This battle is raging in every home and heart in American and the world.

Who is the real enemy of freedom ? It is those who consciously have chosen to enslave mankind whether in the media,  business, politics, divisive special interest groups and moneyed interests.  It is also those who unfortunately through ignorance,  unconsciously are pawns serving the cause of slavery whilst believing they are doing good. And most of all it is the very slave master that resides within us. The unruly, fearful , controlling and unloving aspect of ourselves.

Our biggest weakness collectively and individually is our own ignorance of our true power and our authority to govern ourselves through this power. We have simply, voluntary given up our power.

The main feature of this inner battle is our own divided and conflicted house (our minds/ bodies/ emotions).

The main feature of the outer battle is divide to conquer by separating each other on the basis of race, class, sex, political affiliation, and more recently gender.

There is a simple equation for individual and societal Victory:

United we stand (freedom) and divided we fall (slavery)

We have forgotten Pluribus Unum, Unum Pluribus. Out of one many, many out of one. Are we not our brothers’ and sisters keepers?

The 3 main roles that keeps us enslaved...
Persecutor. Rescuer. Victim.

Our society today is characterized by these three roles. We play them out  in our relationships, our vocations and our politics. Through this role playing we have reduced ourselves to the lowest aspect of our Capacity and capability.

Some examples of how these roles play out in general are:

  • We give our power away to outside authorities (Government, leaders, bosses and spouses) to solve our problems and we play subservient and helpless. (Victim).

  • We stay stuck in our wounding whether it is from racism / colonization / misogyny / homophobia and demand recompense and not healing. (Victim).

  • Those in power use force through systems of control (Communism / Socialism / Greed in Capitalism / Government structures / Justice systems). (Persecutor).

  • We persecute and ruthlessly vandalize our natural world.(Persecutor).

  • We vent our anger and indignation against been treated unfairly. We seek retribution and social justice in the form of reverse discrimination. (Victim / Rebel).

  • We don't teach those who are in need how to fish but rather we fish for them (Rescuer).

  • The government takes on the responsibility for equity of resources in society abdicating individual responsibility for success (Rescuer).

The true role of government is to protect individual freedom.

The Ancient Formula for Freedom

The ancients who wanted to manifest enlightened virtue in their empire first healed and brought order to their states.

Wanting to heal and bring order to their states, they first established equanimity in their families and made them whole.

Wanting to establish equanimity in their families and make them whole, they first cultivated themselves.

Wanting to cultivate themselves, they first got themselves in line and in tune with their hearts.

Wanting to be in line and in tune with their hearts, they first became honest with themselves and purified their motives.

Wanting to be honest with themselves and purify their motives,

they first assimilated wisdom and put it into practice.

They assimilated wisdom and put it into practice by investigating and reflecting upon all phenomena and culling out what was true.

This formula given millenia ago, is still as relevant then as it is now. Individual accountability, mastery comes first before societal transformation.

-Michael Raal

The Call to Arms

The relative freedom that every person enjoys in America and the world is given by the sacrifice of those who came before in the name of freedom. Those braves souls who gave their lives for freedom. Whether in war or service. Those souls who refused to bow down to the Tyrant both within and without. The torch has been passed and it now is in our hands. Will it be taken up, will we sound the battle cry of freedom or retreat to be crushed under the boot of the slave masters?

The Flame of Freedom - I say in the name of freedom…

I will never give up

I will never turn back

I will never submit

I will bear the Flame of Freedom unto my victory

I will bear this flame in honor

I will sustain the glory of Life within my nation

I will win the ascension

I will forsake all idols

I will forsake the idol of my outer self

I will have the glory of my immaculate divinely conceived self-manifesting within me

I AM Freedom

I AM determined to be Freedom

I AM determined to bear it all

I Am God’s Freedom and He is indeed free

I AM freed by his Power and his Power is supreme

I AM fulfilling the purposes of God’s kingdom

In the words of

John F. Kennedy

“On earth God’s work must truly be our own. O America, let us pray that by his grace we shall make the right choices for freedom, that by his Spirit we shall put down every form of tyranny that assails the mind of man, that by the Mother and the Son we shall restore purity, nobility and reverence for life in our children, in our youth and in the soul that is America."
